From the Founder of Sunflower Home Care
I have over 25 years of professional experience in speech therapy, psychotherapy, learning therapy, and counseling. I’ve devoted my life to helping individuals navigate medical, developmental, and emotional challenges. My journey began in South Korea, where I founded and directed eight multidisciplinary therapy centers offering integrated services in speech, psychological, cognitive, art, music, dance and play therapy. These centers served patients with conditions such as Alzheimer’s disease, Parkinson’s disease, traumatic brain injury, dysphagia, and dementia. I provided holistic support that addressed not only physical and cognitive rehabilitation but also emotional growth and social connection.
As a psychologist, I have supported clients with a wide range of mental health conditions including anxiety, depression, bipolar, PTSD, and OCD disorders. My therapeutic approach has always been rooted in creating safe, nurturing environments that foster healing and personal empowerment. As a learning therapist I cared for individuals with ADHD, dyslexia, and other learning differences to help them overcome barriers and unlock their potential through customized cognitive and educational strategies.
In South Korea, I also established a thriving postpartum doula service that I have since carried over into the United States with me. My doulas have supported mothers and newborns in their homes with warmth, expertise, and cultural awareness for over 30 years. My care model is based around physical recovery, emotional support, education, and family bonding during the critical postpartum period.
My personal experience as a caregiver for my mother has been the inspiration for Sunflower Home Care. My time with her has profoundly shaped my understanding of dignified aging and the importance of deeply personalized home care. I have spent my entire life caring for others and it is this unwavering dedication that fuels my mission today. Through Sunflower Home Care, I strive to bring compassion, dignity, and customized care to every client. I ensure that each individual feels seen, heard, and valued in their journey toward wellness. My goal is to build not just a service, but a community where caregivers are empowered, families are supported, and healing is approached holistically. As I look to the future, I remain committed to fostering innovation, advocating for the vulnerable, and continuing to grow a legacy rooted in love, respect, and lifelong service to others.
